A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is due with the Membership Application form after a student is notified of acceptance into the program. The deposit is applied to the appropriate semester participation fee.

First Semester begins Friday, August 24, 2007 Retreat weekend and ends Sunday December 9, 2007.
Second Semester begins Monday, January 7, 2008 and ends Sunday April 27, 2008
A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is due with the Membership Application from after a student is notified of acceptance into the program. This deposit will be applied to appropriate semester participation fee. Participation Fees must be paid by the first rehearsal of each semester or 30 days after acceptance into the OYS organization, whichever is later. This includes any balance due from those students receiving financial aid awards. If payment is not made according to this schedule, the student will not be allowed to attend the next rehearsal until the participation fee is paid.
There is a 20% sibling discount for families with more than one participating ensemble member, i.e. the largest participation fee must be paid in full; each additional sibling receives a discount of 20% off their respective participation fee when joining at the beginning of a semester. There will be NO participation fee REFUNDS to students dropping out of the OYS organization after the first regular rehearsal following their acceptance into the organization, except for students who move out of the area and provide a forwarding address to the OYS office.
Financial Aid
Financial aid applications are available upon request. Requests must be made when a student is accepted into the organization and forms submitted by stated deadlines. Financial aid is based on need and the amount available in the OYS budget each year. A copy of parent(s) recent IRS Form 1040
(pages 1 & 2) must be submitted with the Application. Download Financial Aid Application.
Ryan D. Salter Memorial Scholarship
The Ryan D. Salter Memorial Scholarship is a need-based award of full participation fee available to one deserving string player each season . According to the wishes of the Salter family, the OYS Scholarship/Financial Aid Committee will review all financial aid requests from the string players. (Applicants must also provide a recommendation letter from a music teacher.) The award will be presented first to a YAO string bass players; then other string players; or, if no YAO string player applies for financial aid, an OYS string bass player; then other string players. No scholarship will be awarded if no string players apply for financial aid during a season. Deadline for submission of Salter Scholarship Application is August 1. (If no string players apply by deadline date, a later award may be made at the discretion of the Committee.) |
